Espen Moe, born on May 17, 1972, embarked on his academic journey with a strong foundation in political science, economics, and philosophy. His intellectual curiosity led him to pursue a Bachelor's degree (Cand. mag.) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 1991 to 1996, where he majored in Political Science and National Economics while minoring in German and Philosophy.

PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS

In the years 1999 to 2004, Moe undertook a significant academic endeavor, earning his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at UCLA. His dissertation, titled "Governance and Growth: The Role of the State in Technological Progress and Industrial Leadership," showcased his early commitment to understanding the intricate relationship between governance, technology, and economic development.

CONFERENCES HOSTED AND ORGANIZED

Demonstrating leadership and commitment to fostering academic exchange, Moe actively participated in organizing and hosting conferences. He played a crucial role in the Organizing Committee for the NTNU Sustainability Science Conference in 2017 and the Nordic Environmental Social Science Conference in 2015. Moreover, he hosted and organized the 2011 NTNU Japan Seminar, focusing on renewables and energy security in Japan, East Asia, and Norway.
